Brief information about the area:
Nurata-Aydarkul district is a place where ecotourism fans can find everything their soul desires. Here you can see firsthand what the Kyzylkum Desert is like, followed by a chain of mountains Nuratau, and enjoy the view of one of the most beautiful water bodies of Uzbekistan - Lake Aidarkul. "Lake" is a conditional name, which is easier to use in everyday speech. In fact, Aydarkul is an unexpectedly successful product of anthropogenic catastrophe. As a result of a strong flood in the late 60s of the last century, water from the Syr Darya flooded the Arnasai lowland, which led to the emergence of the second largest reservoir (after the Aral Sea) in the territory of Uzbekistan.
Aidarkul is visited annually by not only thousands of tourists, but many varieties of migratory birds, such as pelicans, flamingos, etc.
The Nurata-Aydarkul ecosystem is full of various representatives of flora and fauna, including walnut-fruit forests, almond shrubs, turtles, hares, monitor lizards, and rare species, such as Severtsev's ram.
In the most picturesque colors, these places appear in the spring when spots of poppy fields are scattered on the bright green slopes.
Already in June, the temperature of the water becomes comfortable for swimming, and besides observing nature, you can enjoy swimming and other types of outdoor activities.
And the city of Nurata will make you believe in legends and tales, according to which tens of thousands of years ago a meteorite fell on this place. On the site of the crater appeared water, which has unique healing properties and from time to time emits a mysterious radiance. In the city there are also monuments of ancient architecture.
